We're looking for a Strategic Partnerships Lead!

Are you keen to use your strategic prowess and creative vision to secure best-in-class partnerships and create compelling brand experiences centred around ‘ideas worth spreading’? We’re looking for passionate, savvy, creative and independent leaders to join our Partnerships team as a Strategic Partnerships Lead for the upcoming season!

About the position


Our Partners play a critical role in financially supporting our organization, sharing compelling content, bringing to life immersive and unique experiences, and in showcasing thought leadership and their brand stories. In the past 12 years, we’ve partnered with hundreds of organizations across industries and sectors, from local community-based organizations to global brands. 


We’re looking for passionate volunteers who have a strong business background and entrepreneurial spirit, and are keen to roll up their sleeves to creatively develop, secure and manage partnerships with some of the most exciting, innovative and impactful organizations in the GTHA.


What you’ll do: 

  • Collaborate with Partnerships team to drive lead generation and manage client relationships
  • Own your end-to-end partnership business: prospecting, negotiating, and closing brand-level sponsorships
  • Work creatively with partners to unlock opportunities to integrate their brand and thought leadership into our community and slate of programs 
  • Brainstorm and conceptualize new and exciting experiences to bring to life at our flagship annual event and year-round slate of community programs that both deliver a brand’s story and create engaging experiences for delegates 
  • Build strong relationships with key TEDxToronto volunteers across Marketing, Community and other teams to co-create and execute partnership opportunities


You’re a fit if you have:

  • Experience in a strategy, business development, sponsorships, or partnerships role 
  • A demonstrated track record of brokering, developing, negotiating, and closing partnerships 
  • Strong social and interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in people and building relationships
  • An ability to balance multiple priorities while staying organized and maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • An “own it” mind-set - you like to try things and are accountable to see them through 

Time commitment:

  • May/June 2021 - June 2022
  • Approx. 5 hrs/week
